What you can do is submit content, which will be reviewed and, if accepted, posted on the blog and the front page. If you just got back from a town hall with Congressman Walberg and you want to share your first-hand account, come here. If you aren't satisfied with what Fitzy is writing about, show him how its done. If you've got breaking news and no one has written about it yet, this is the place for you.
Unfortunately, what you write won't be posted right away. To prevent vandalism and maintain a certain level of quality, everything is reviewed by Fitzy first, which means you're stuck dealing with his schedule. Still, this gives you a chance to be involved. It will improve this website and it will keep the heat on Congressman Walberg.
Here are the guidelines:
Posts must be factually true. This should go without saying. We're not in the rumor business, and we're not interested in ruining anyone's reputations-- that's the game the other side plays.
Posts must be well-sourced. If you make an assertion, you should back it up with links and evidence. "Inside information" which can't be proven will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
Posts must be your own, original work. Any good blogger will quote another source for emphasis and support, and that's encouraged. What you can't do is pass off someone else's work as your own, nor can you copy an entire work from someone else. It's tempting, and other people do it without getting in trouble, but it's best to just be careful. For a good idea of what you can and can't do, see Wikipedia's Fair Use page.
Posts must have some content. Posts consisting of something like "Tim Walberg is the worst politician ever!" will not be posted. That's not going to convince anyone of anything, and it's going to make Walberg Watch look bad. Spend some time on it, and make it something worth posting.
Anything containing offensive content will not be posted.
We reserve the right to edit anything you submit. This is mostly for proper formatting and to fix typos. You'll just have to trust that we won't edit your content.
We reserve the right to reject anything, for any reason. Basically, if it's worth posting, it'll be posted. If it's not, it won't be, and you might not get an explanation.
